Prof. Naoaki Yabuuchi
Prof. Naoaki Yabuuchi’s research covers a broad range within the field of solid-state ionics, mainly focusing on battery materials. He develops novel battery materials through creative and original approaches based on a crystallographic perspective, targeting Li/Na battery cathodes in various material families such as layered, disordered salt structures, Li-excess materials, vanadium-based compounds, etc.. Notably, his achievements in low-cobalt materials, anion redox materials, and strain-free materials for battery cathodes have opened new directions for the field. His papers are exceptionally highly cited within the SSI & battery communities, demonstrating his significant influence on the field.
